Acucorp Announces Enhanced Support for HP e3000 in Version 5.2 of extend™ 5

San Diego, CA - May 25, 2001 - Acucorp, Inc., an international provider of application extension solutions that solve mission critical business issues, today announced plans to offer enhanced support for MPE/iX and the HP e3000 with the upcoming release of version 5.2 of extend5 with ACUCOBOL™-GT. The extend5 family of solutions allows software developers to leverage their existing investments in COBOL applications by transforming these applications into modern systems. Currently available on over 600 platforms, extend5 includes products and services for enabling Internet deployment, graphical COBOL development, data access, distributed computing, and increased programmer productivity.

Acucorp's plans include enhanced support for HP COBOL extensions and HP Intrinsics, thereby providing direct access to Image, VPLUS, and other 3rd party offerings. With the release of Version 5.2, HP e3000 developers will be able to maintain their existing applications with a full range of COBOL development tools, while at the same time benefiting from the many modern programming technologies supported by extend5, including Client/Server, e-business, and Thin Client deployment capabilities. As a result, HP e3000 customers will no longer be faced with the challenges of migrating or converting their valuable COBOL assets to other packages or languages when addressing current business needs.

"Acucorp has supported the HP community for many years, however version 5.2 will include a number of major enhancements designed specifically for the HP e3000," said Dr. Pamela Coker, President and CEO of Acucorp, Inc. "HP e3000 developers will experience dramatic benefits from this new offering, including increased ease of development and portability across a variety of platforms. We realize that users have a large investment in both their HP e3000 and the COBOL applications that run on it, and Acucorp is committed to providing the solutions that they need to be competitive".

"Modern COBOL offerings play a vital role in enabling HP e3000 developers to deliver options that address management's demands for applications to incorporate new technologies", said Jeanette Nutsford, Interex SIGCOBOL Chairperson. "COBOL-based solutions, such as those offered by Acucorp, can provide the type of features that companies need to move forward with the HP e3000".

HP e3000 Beta Program

For a limited time, Acucorp is seeking qualified HP e3000 COBOL developers to participate in the upcoming version 5.2 Beta Program. To take advantage of this offer, or for more information on extend 5, please register online.
