Acucorp Receives Advanced Partner Status from IBM
San Diego, CA - July 23, 2002 - Acucorp, Inc., a leading provider of application extension solutions that solve mission-critical business issues, was recently moved from Member to Advanced membership level within IBM's PartnerWorld for Developers program-a worldwide IBM partner marketing and enablement program. Acucorp's membership advancement is reflective of its significant contributions to software development and modernization solutions for IBM's computing platforms.
Symbolizing a long-lasting commitment to offer premium technology benefits to joint customers worldwide, the Advanced level membership will provide Acucorp with access to a more comprehensive assortment of technical, informational, general business and marketing services. This access will further accelerate the development and support of Acucorp's solutions for IBM's eServer line. In addition to these benefits, Acucorp will receive exclusive Advanced partner access to the IBM business partner emblem and e-business logo, invitations to IBM's annual PartnerWorld Conference, and hands-on technical experience through standard or customized IBM workshops.
"We've always made it a priority to provide our customers with the most interoperable and portable COBOL solutions available," says Joe Seiley, Acucorp's, Director of Business Development. "Our current support of AIX, Linux and Windows across the IBM eServer product line, combined with the business opportunities now available through our Advanced partner status, will enable us to continue delivering the industry-leading solutions ISVs and end-users have come to expect from both Acucorp and IBM."
Acucorp's extend5 family of solutions-which feature technologies for Internet deployment, COBOL-based GUI development, COBOL access to RDBMS data and ODBC data sources, distributed computing architecture, and programmer productivity-are currently portable to nearly 200 IBM ports, including AIX5L, Linux Intel and Linux running on the IBM eServer zSeries and iSeries servers. Using extend5, software developers can move existing ACUCOBOL-GT applications to IBM's platforms or more than 600 other ports without recompilation. This significantly reduces the cost, risk and time involved in migrating and maintaining the application while still providing a robust COBOL solution that incorporates the latest technologies.
