Acucorp Enhances IBM Offering By Providing Support For IBM eServer iSeries Servers
San Diego, CA - February 20, 2002 - Acucorp, Inc., an international provider of application development solutions designed to solve mission-critical business issues, today announced its support for IBM eServer iSeries servers running Linux, including the new IBM eServer iSeries offering for Linux. As part of this support, Acucorp now offers its extend™5 family of software solutions on IBM eServer iSeries servers. Currently available on more than 600 other platforms, such as IBM eServer zSeries, XP, AIX5L, Linux and Solaris, the extend5 product line is designed to modernize and enhance legacy applications by transforming these applications into modern systems. Included in the extend5 product line are technologies that allow for Internet deployment; COBOL-based GUI development; COBOL access to RDBMS data (DB2, Informix and Oracle among others) as well as access to other ODBC data sources; distributed computing and Thin Client architecture; and programmer productivity.

By combining Acucorp's solutions with IBM's new server technology, software developers can move their existing ACUCOBOL-GT applications to Linux for IBM eServer iSeries without recompilation. In addition, they can consolidate up to 15 standalone Linux and Windows servers onto one physical server. As a result of this new robust rehosting environment, developers will be able to reduce the costs and complexities typically associated with application migration.
