Acucorp Selected by HP Platinum Service Partner
Company will provide COBOL solutions for HP e3000 MigrationsSan Diego, CA—May 28, 2003—Acucorp, Inc., an international developer of legacy application extension solutions, was recently selected by Pathway Pacific Pty Ltd, Hewlett-Packard’s sole Platinum Partner in Asia Pacific, to provide its ACUCOBOL-GT development system to HP e3000 customers interested in moving their HP COBOL II programs to UNIX, Linux or Windows platforms—most in response to the HP e3000 end-of-life announcement made by HP in November 2001.
Using Acucorp’s robust ACUCOBOL-GT development system and integrated AcuBench development environment, Pathway Pacific’s customers can first migrate their COBOL code while still on the HP e3000, before moving their mission-critical systems to any of the more than 600 platforms Acucorp supports. Once migrated, these systems can integrate such innovative Acucorp technologies as a native COBOL thin client, COBOL-based GUI development, and COBOL access to XML, .NET, J2EE, C# and Visual Basic through the integration of a service-oriented architecture.
As part of its HP e3000 migration offering, Pathway Pacific has bundled the Acucorp technologies with two other outside-vendor products. The first, Eloquence, is a database that is very similar to Turbo/Image on the HP e3000. The second, ScreenJet, is a tool that automatically converts the VPlus forms of an HP e3000 application to native AcuBench forms and MPUX.
