Acucorp Trademark and Logo Usage Requirements
This Style Guide sets forth the rules for using and referring to Acucorp’s
brands, trademarks, product names, and logos. These rules apply to all Acucorp
organizations, distributors, independent software vendors, partners, consultants,
customers, and other third parties making reference to Acucorp trade or service
marks or using the Acucorp logos. Acucorp reserves the right to modify this
Style Guide at its sole discretion.
Except as specifically provided by license or other agreement with Acucorp,
Inc., third parties may not use any Acucorp trademark or logo for any purpose.
Even when accurately describing a relationship with Acucorp or support of Acucorp’s
technology, third parties should not use an Acucorp trademark or logo without
prior written consent from Acucorp, Inc.
Subject to Acucorp, Inc. providing written consent for usage, this Style Guide
explains the proper usage of Acucorp’s brands, trademarks, product names,
and logos.

In this document, when we refer to a “mark,” we mean the name or
phrase, not the symbol next to it. For example,
ACUCOBOL-GT is a mark, and AcuODBC is a mark. At least the first use of a mark
in the text should use the appropriate
® or ™ symbol. Subsequent marks in the same story or section can drop
the symbol.
Correct: AcuODBC® and AcuODBC Server
Overuse of symbol:
AcuODBC® and AcuODBC® Server
At least the first use of a mark in each chapter should be used as an adjective
to establish a context. By definition,
a trademark or service mark is an adjective, which identifies a product or service,
and is synonymous with
“brand name.”
Correct: The extend® family
of products is…
Wrong: extend® will
fulfill all of your development needs.
When referring to the company, use Acucorp, Inc. When talking about the brand
name (used as an adjective) use Acucorp®. When referring to Acucorp, Inc.,
the company, it is not necessary to use the ®.
Correct: Acucorp, Inc. licenses software development tools.
Wrong: Acucorp®,
Inc. licenses software development tools.
Correct: Acucorp® products are the best.
Wrong: The best
products are made by Acucorp®.
Note the position of the trademark symbol in these product names that contain
more than one word. Remember that only the first instance of the mark takes a
symbol.

These marks should be used with consistent capitalization and stylization.
The word “extend” should be bold and italic and must be lowercase,
unless it starts a sentence. The word ACUCOBOL-GT must be uppercase.

Intellectual Property Statements
The intellectual property statements should be printed in legible type and
in a location for other legal notices. The following statements serve as an
example of types of intellectual property statements.
Generally, a form of the trademark legend should appear in any material referencing
one or more Acucorp trademarks. The specific legend to be used by a third party
will depend upon the terms and conditions of the written consent provided by
Acucorp, Inc. Any questions should be directed to the Acucorp Marketing Department.

Logo Reproduction
For offset printing, the Acucorp logo should be reproduced in black and Pantone
485 (red) ink. If the printing process allows for only 4-color process (CMYK),
the red should be reproduced as 0% Cyan, 97% Magenta, 100% Yellow, and 0% Black.
When reproduced for the web, the red should be hexadecimal color #FF0000.
