Company Description:
ScreenJet Ltd. was established in 1999 to combine the latest PC interface developments
with the HP e3000 application development skills of Affirm Ltd. Affirm has been
developing and supporting HP e3000 COBOL-VPLUS applications in the U.K. since
the mid-1980s and has been a Hewlett-Packard channel partner since 1987. This
partnership created a new Graphical User Interface for the HP e3000, "ScreenJet".
A Thin Client Graphical User Interface to convert and enhance VPLUS applications.
Since its commercial launch, more than 20 organizations and ISVs worldwide have
licensed ScreenJet. Since the announcement by Hewlett Packard of the EOL for the
HP e3000, ScreenJet has been adapting this technology to support conversion of
VPLUS into the AcuBench® IDE.
Product Description:
The ScreenJet VPLUS migration tool kit is unique in that it extracts the
screen information from HP e3000 VPLUS Formfile(s) and delivers it as ready made
GUI screens in the Acucorp, Inc. AcuBench IDE (Integrated Development Environment),
as though the screens had been created initially in that IDE. In addition to the
migration tool kit there is also an optional replacement VPLUS API written in
ACUCOBOL-GT®. This allows migrated HP e3000 COBOL applications to retain
their existing VPLUS calls, and at run-time the API resolves these calls and makes
the appropriate calls to the new ACUCOBOL-GT GUI screens.
