Release Overview
Version 6.0
Environment Variables
server_port_PASSWORD and server_PASSWORD
Two new environment variables, server_port_PASSWORD and server_PASSWORD, have been added. They are designed to specify passwords for AcuServer clients in the environment so that the passwords need not be entered when you are connecting to the server. This is most useful when the compiler and cblutil are called from the AcuBench integrated development environment, because AcuBench may call these programs many times in succession.
Set server_port_PASSWORD when you want to connect to a server at a particular port. For example, to set a password to connect to a server named "mercury" that is listening at port 4330, you can set the following:
mercury-4330-PASSWORD=we1rneBSet server_PASSWORD to the value of the password. In this case, the variable would be set to:
mercury-PASSWORD=we1rneBThe variable server_port_PASSWORD is checked first. If it does not exist, server_PASSWORD is checked. If this variable does not exist, the user is asked for a password. If any of the above variables exist, but the password they contain is not the correct password for the server, the connection attempt fails.
