AcuBench

Version 6.0 of the AcuBench integrated development environment contains several new features and enhancements designed to make your project development and maintenance tasks easier than ever. This Release Overview section includes only a brief summary of the new functionality. Unless otherwise indicated, more details about these features can be found in the AcuBench User's Guide sections designated in the following paragraphs.

With this release of AcuBench, the on-line AcuBench User's Guide appears in HTML format for the first time. In addition to its new physical appearance, you will notice that the user's guide is reorganized to consolidate the coverage of related topics. For example, Chapter 18, "Working with Data," now contains information about all of the AcuBench graphical data designers. Previous versions of the manual covered each graphical designer in a separate chapter. The two procedures for creating object libraries in AcuBench now appear in one chapter (Chapter 19, "Working with ACUCOBOL-GT Utilities") rather than in the two separate chapters found in the Version 5.x manual. Topics covered in some small chapters are now incorporated into appropriate places throughout the manual. For example, the Version 5.x chapter that describes how to find and replace text strings now appears in the chapter that examines how to work with Code Editor text. Of course, the AcuBench User's Guide also contains new chapters that provide detailed information about how to create reports using the new Version 6.0 Report Composer function. Check out the new look for our user's guide as you use it to learn more about AcuBench Version 6.0 features.
