Release Overview
Version 6.0

Code Generation

Code generation enhancements give you more flexibility in the use of AcuBench automatic code handling facilities.

These new features include an I/O Handling tab in the File Designer that allows you to code I/O statements and declaratives and assign them to a data layout file. (See section 19.2.4, "The I/O Handling Screen.") The workbench also has a mechanism in the Data Set Member Files dialog for activating or suppressing an I/O statement in any given data set. (See section 19.4.1, "The Data Set's Property Window.")

New "extern" AcuBench program tags allow you to designate external ".def" and COPY file statements for automatic code generation. (See section 5.7.2, "Setting Program Tag Options.") You also have alternate methods for adding AcuBench program tags to source code, including check boxes in the File/New/File and Add/Remove Files dialogs and a Code Editor right-click Create Program Structure File command. (See section 8.12, "Adding Files to a Project.")

You can now select an existing source file as a base for a new program. (See section 8.12, "Adding Files to a Project.") You can also use a program options file (".prf") to store default program options for a standard program, so you don't need to make the same modifications to every new program you create. Code generation characteristics can be defined at the program level in a Code Generation Program Properties tab. (See section 8.20, "Program Properties.")

You can decide whether all AcuBench-generated code, including COPY files, is written to a single source file. You can also change the default extensions of any standard generated files in the Tools/Options/Code Generator/Generate Document or the Program Properties/Code Generation interfaces. (For more information, see section 5.7.1, "Setting Generate Document Options.")

Before-Tabchg-Display and After-Tabchg-Display entry points can be programmed in the Event Editor for a tab control. CELL SIZE syntax is now supported in the Screen Designer Property window, as is the Copy Resource property.
