Project Management

AcuBench project management enhancements include new project handling capabilities that can help increase programmer productivity.

A new Build/Regenerate Workspace command causes all the code-generating elements of a workspace to be regenerated. New support for project files means that projects can be physically separated from a workspace, facilitating project sharing among development team members. These functions are useful if projects have been removed from the workspace, changed, and then returned to the workspace. (See section 8.7, "Regenerating a Workspace.")

Compiler options directly supported in AcuBench include the "-C52" compatibility option, the "-Z52" option, and the "-Vu" video option. The "-Dd31" data storage option, which enables 31-digit support, can be entered in the Project Settings dialog "Additional Options" entry field. Descriptions of these options can be found in the "New Compiler Switches" section of this Release Overview. You should note that unless otherwise stated, any ACUCOBOL-GT compiler or runtime option that does not appear in the AcuBench Project Settings dialog can be entered in the dialog's "Additional Options" entry field.

A new Find in Objects command lets you search for and locate matching strings of text in the files that contain Property window elements. Search results appear in the Output window. (See section 13.5.2, "Edit Menu Commands.")
